What is the Bard College Fund?
The Bard College Fund supports the College’s annual operating costs. The money donated to the Bard College Fund is used in the same year the funds are given and supports the undergraduate college, primarily in the form of financial aid. There are other funds used for named scholarships, endowed professorships, buildings, and specific areas or causes (e.g., the Hannah Arendt Center). Some of these funds—most often those that are endowed or named—have required amounts to establish.
It seems natural to think tuition is enough to cover the expenses of running an institution like Bard, but tuition only makes up one piece of the pie. Donations from our generous donors help to “fill the gap” every year.
The Bard College Fund welcomes every gift, no matter the size, and only supports the annual expenses of the College and is not restricted to any one area or purpose. |
